SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for strong northerly winds, changing by west to southerly in from twenty-four to thirtysix hours, barometer falling in the meantime. Cloudy and unsettled wea.ther probablo generally. Heavy rain may bo expected soon, and. some Enow on higher levels in the south. Low atmospheric pressuro exists both to tho northward and to the southward—the two systems accounting for slight barometric gradients, and though a northerly galo is now reported at Kaikoura, the winds generally aro only moderate to strong.
