These blades are first hardened in oil and are afterwards tempered in water. A leading feature of theJo machines is that They Are AH Self=sharpcning. Thiß is due to the stationary knife being so constructed, that, as it gradually wears away, it sharpens both itself and the revolving knives in the prooess.
