BIBLE IN SCHOOLS.
•NO REFERENDUM THIS YEAR. In 'the House of Representatives yesterday Mr. J. A. Hanau's question, the object of which wos to get a definite reply, from the Prime Minister as to what the Government would do about the referendum on tho Bible-in-Schools question, was answered by Mr. Massey. "I have already indicated," said Mr. Massey, "that it is not intended to introduce legislation this session providing for a referendum on the subject of Bible-reading in State schools, and with that answer tlie honourable member will have to be satisfied for the. present."
