CANADIAN MILITIA.
SIR lAN HAMILTON'S REPORT CRITICISED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. August 19, 8.5 p.m.) Ottawa, August 19. Sir lan Hamilton's report on the Canadian Militia, in which ho commends the establishment of a National Reserve and the oreating of adequate ivar stores and longer periods of training, has been freely criticised. The Liberal press oriticises the report on the militia ag intended as "a preliminary to tho introduction of a system of universal military training in Canada on similar line 9 to that in New Zealand." Tho "Free Press" declares, that the engagement of Sir lan Hamilton waa "merely a move on tho part of the Minister for the Militia (Colonel Hughes) towards tho establishment of military service."
