Dr. Boutflower, Anglican Bishop of Tokio South, has arrived to attend tho Church Congress at Brisbane in September. Ho lias been four years in Japan, and believes that that country has wonderful prospects. "Thero are," he says, "two Japans—old and now. Education is extending, and causing the disappearance of old Japan and its ideals. The Japaneso are becoming Christians, though that is not to say that they are going to become -Christians in, the' technical senso of tho term. Everything is ill the melting pot just now."
