Saturday, May 10th, covering the distanco between Adelaide and Broken Hill (335 miles) in 13 hours 55 minutes. He left Ado-. laide at half-past 3 a.m., and reached the terminal point at Broken Hill at 25 minutes past! 5 p.m. the same day. Cheney drove a "Ford," and was I accompanied by Mr. B. Ralph. He passed through 98 gates, S8 of which his companion had j to open and shut. The previous record was 16 j hours, standing to the credit of Allen Doone.
