An Ingloside, under the auspices of the Carterton branch of the Wairarapa Caledonian Society was held in tlio Victoria liail 011 Friday evening, when there was a. very large attendance. During flic evening many Scotch dances wore given, and songs woro rendered by Misses S.' Wliyle, Jji ml op, Udy, and Mr. T. Dunn. Accompaniments were played by Miss Bish, and the music for dancing by Messrs. Fawcett, Crawley, • and Doyle.

Messrs. A. E. Booth, C. Ecitl, R. M'Crae, .mil H. M'lCenzie wore tho M.C's, who together with tlieir numerous helpers left mo stone itnturned to malcc the gathering enjoyable. GREYTOWN. On Friday night the monthly meeting of the G-reytown District High School Committee was held. The resignation of Mr. G. K. Kidsen, secondary teacher, was accepted witli regret, and a letter of appreciation of his services was ordered to be sent to him. The committee have agreed to give tho Education Hoard the Bum of .£l2O towards building a new secondary school here. Blnlio; twwirpr, W. Waldoclc. Other officers were left until a future date. Messrs. H. Johnstone, G.
