(By Tolccraph—Proes Association.) Timaru, August 17. At a meeting of ttio Farmers' Union and tho A. and P. Joint Committee on Shearing mention was made of tho proposal mads by Sir AW C. Buchanan, JI.P., to have the regulation regarding sheep dipping altered. At present tho North Island dipping season begins iu January, and in tho South Island iu February, and North Island sheep dipped in January and brought to tho South Island that month have to be dipped again. The proposal is that the South Island begin in January also. Farmers agreed that this would not suit" the south, as the lice do not breed so early, and January dipping would bo useless for this island. It would be/better to put tho season on a month.
