TRAIN TRAFFIC STILL. BLOCKED. (By Telczra-Pli—Press Association.) Dunedin, August 17. Very little rain fell on Saturday, and tho weather 'to-day is very line. Thoro was a good deal of water on the Taieri Plain yesterday, but it was gradually disapproving. " There was still about 4ft'.' of water, on the Oiitrnm lino between Rivrrsido niul Gladlield. Tho railway traffic was badly dislocated yesterday, owins 1.0 the lino near Otoki.i being about 4ft. under water. Trains from Invcrcargill and Clinton were bold up nt Henley. Relief trains were dispatched, but nassangers did net arrive her" (ill about 3 p.m. Tlie first express to Tnvercargill and the morning train to Clinton were cancelled, as also was (lie goods service. By C.,10 p.m. tho water had subsided sufficiency to allow trains in nt irduced speed. The second express for Invorca.rgill left Dunedin nljout 7.30 p.m., somo three hours late. Traffic on the north lino vns further delayed bv a slip near Puketernki. Both expresses'for (lie north were delayed nixint four hours. Passenger and goods ira.ins from Dunedin to Oamnrii wero cancelled. The first express from (he North Island did not arrive hero till 7.30 p.m., but tho second ,cx»tc>ss came in up to time. On the Ot:<?o Central ■ lino another fall of about 100 tons of,.rock and earth has taken place at Dindon, but men aro busy clearing the slins aiv.iv, and thero is hope that the service will bo ro sinned ta-niorrow. It is difficult to saj yet whether it will be possible to rui» trains on the Outratn branch to-morrow.
