CAULIFLOWERS IN HEAVY SUPPLY. Supplies of' apples l and pears at the Blair and. Allen Street markets having decreased the demand and prices for both lines have increased during this week. Thei Melbourne-Hobart steamer which arrived yesterday brought only very small consignments of apples and pears, and from prevailing reports the'; supplies are not likely ■to bo increased very much. The'<us(ial corisigniileht of New South ;Waleg fruit arrived on Wednesday, but owing to quito a. number of lines arriving in very poor order, the balance brought very good ' 'prices.
Tho Island shipment, due yesterday, fas not come to hand so far, but sales ;will bdi'repdrted on' later. ■ The feature of tho vegetable market at present Ts'the very lieavy supply of cauliflower arriving, the'market being practically glutted.
Spring flowers are, arriving in enormous quantities, values being rather low in'consequence.
