Tho shop is ranted b.v Mr. Lackland M'Lsan, grocer, and tlio wholo building is owned by M,r. Donald M'Lean. Tho shop and its contents, whoro the fire originated, wore badly damaged, and tho house also suffered from tho effects of heat and water. The origin of tho firo was ti oandlo being loft burning underneath tho counter in the shop. Tho contents of tho are insured in tho P-outh British offico for ,£320, and tho Ca3imorci.nl Union hold n policv' of .G7OO ovit tho building.
