After serious l'iots hail occurred, the militia got tho strike situation, undor control at Ladj-smith, Nahaimo, and other Vauoouver Island towns. The strikers besieged strike-breakers in a tunnel during a whole night, destroyed tho mine buildings, flooded' tho mine workings, and dynamited a railway bridge. Tliey also committed other cut-, rages. Tiireo thousand strikers aro involved. TOWN TERRORISED. (Bee. August 15, 9.30 p.m.) Vancouver, August 15. During the earlier stages of tho Nanimo riot the minors compelled tho polico to talco refugo in steamers. They terrorised tho town, and blew up a hut ocoupied by strike-breakers. LABOUR WAR IN SPAIN.
