There is a strong agitation on foot, to induce the Government to reconsider the case of William Wright (6an/tenoed to doaitih for tho murder of a girl named Myrtle Caldwell), on the ground that he is mentally weak. Tiro petition was signed by many thousands at a mooting which had boon arranged in the Town Hall.
On July 21 last Cabinet deoided that Wright should suffer the extromo penalty.
