A call will be made at Hobart orn August 20. and 'Wellington should be reached on September 2.. DISGRUNTLED. According to a southern paper, the action of those in charge of tho F. and S. Line's Kent, which returned to Bluff disabled on Wednesday mornintr. in goincr past the Bluff and Invercargill firms for repairs, is regarded as a slur on tho engineering reputation of Southland. The Kent burst a steampipe when some 50 milea past Point on her voyage to -Brisbane, and it was to have this repaired that 'ihe made the nearest port, which, of couree,» was Bluff. But, although tho engineering firms were capable of effecting the necessary rrpai v s (brazing the steainplpe), those responsible ignored local industry, and sent the work to Dunedin. The attitude of tho Southland engineering firms is that if the ship's authorities prefer to lie idle in port longer than there in any occasion to, it is their own look-out, hut tbey protest against their unnecessary action in naming oyer local industry. According to advice received by the local office of the Union Company the Wafporl was to have left Melbourne for Hobart, Bluff, Dunedin. Lyttelton,' and Wellington yesterday. The vessel, which is taking the place of the Willochra, is due here about August 25. The Union Company's Corinna has beon delayed by fee at Oamaru. She is expected to leave Timam for Lyttelton to-day, and i.- due at Wellington on Friday. l)e----un'ture will be taken from tills port for Nel»on and New Plymouth at 5 p.m. on Friday. On arrival at New Plymouth the Corinna will tranship Onehunga cargo and return to Wellington and southern ports. The New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered steamer Matatua. which is en route, from Montreal to Wellington, is now at Melbourne. The Matutua is due here about August 25.
