Motor tests with benzol fuel show that benzol develops considerably greater power than petrol, while it is fivepence per gallon cheaper.. Doherty, a well-known figure in tho gas industry of tlio United States, in a letter to the "Times," says that since benzol _is recognised as being a satisfactory substitute for petrol, the gas companies will prove fairy godmothers to tho motor industry. Ho calculates that somo 12.000,000 gallons of motor fuel could be recovered annually from London gas alone, and from the whole of England 60,000,000 gallons. He anticipates no serious engineering difficulties.]
