PANAMA EXHIBITION.

The "Daily Chronicle" advocates the Board of Trado sending an exhibit of British arts and crafts to the Panama Exhibition. Sir Thomas Lipton strongly supports Great Britain exhibiting, particularly as the American tariff wall has been lowered. "It is not our business," he says, "to sulk outside for the sake of a paltry quarter of a million of money. Advices received here state that though the Italian Parliament has voted ,£BO,OOO, it is not likely that Italy will participate in the Exhibition. ("Times" —Sydney "Sun" Special Cables.) (Bee. August 12, 6.30 p.m.) London, August 12. Mr. Sydney Buxton (President of the Board of Trade) las circulated in the House of Commons a paper showing that the British exhibits would be placed' in, the B Series of Pavilions at the Panama Exposition if sent, and the arrangtjment would preclude an effective tional display.
