The Hon. J. A. Milhr was appointed chairman. Replying to a question by Mr. Wilford, tlio Hon. A. I/. Hordnijin said that there was no resolution of the House that tho otcss should he present nt Ihc inquiry. This was confirmed by the chairman, who said that tho mnlter was one for tlio committee to determine—it could fit in private when it so desired. Mr. Wilford: It. was said in tho House that tho press could be present. Tim chairman: It was the individual opinion of the Minister that tho press could be present". Mr. Herdninn faid that there was no objection to tho- press present when evidence was beiiwf taken, but that in discussing details tho committee could sit privately.
