At Toko, on August 4, there was au improved yarding, and a good cloaranco was effected as follows:— Yearling heifers, £2 lSu. 6d.; store cows, aged, £2 9e.; good store' cows, £3 lis. 6d. to £4 2&. 6d.; forward cow, £4 17?. to £5 Bs.; da.iry cows, £4 15s. to £6 2s. 6d.; fat cows. £7 155.; springing heifers, £5 10s. to £7 15s. On August 5, for tho fortnightly e«ale. I had a fair entry of 560 store cattle, 130 dairy cattle, and 361 .sheep in my Stratford yards, with a fmo attendance from oil, parts. There was a strong % demand, with keen competition resulting in a further advance in values for all classes of cattle. In the dairy pens, springing heifers- sold very readily at prices easily £1 per head improvement on ray last sale. With very few exceptions, the whole yarding wae cleared at the following prices:— Mixed yea.rdin.gs, £2 9s. to £2 ICs. 6d.; Jer-sey-Tlolstoin v-carling heifers, choice line, £4 105. 6d„ £3 16s. 6d., £3 165., £3 lis. 6d., £3 lis.; well-grown grade yearling heifers, without colour, £3 ss. and £3 6s. In tho dairy pens, on account of Mr. 11. B. Kidd, a, very mixed herd of cows was offered, tho best selling at from £6 10s. to £7 lSs.; others, mostly stores, £2 12s. 6d. to .£4 12#. 6d.; on account of other vendors, dairy cows brought up to £8 155.; best springing heifers,- £7 to £8 10s.; good; £5 15s. to £6 10s.; l>ackward. £5. On August 6. at Rtony ltiver, there was a full yarding of all olaspes, with;an excellent attendance. The yearling cattle entered were, in most cafes, rough lines, containing bad colours, but notwithstanding said very readily. Store cows and dairy cattle were in good demand.
