A BIG DAIRY MOVEMENT.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Palmerston North, August 11. A meeting of representatives of various .dairy'companies in tho districts surrounding 'Palmerslon was held to consider the question of starling a large cu-oi>erative concern for obtaining supplies for fanners in -N'ow Zealand, and also with the object of handling their produce at Home. One of tho proposals is to havo .a board in I.ondou to control Xew Zealand produce, with,an advisory board ill New Zealand. It is understood that similar proposals will.be put beforo all tho dairy companies in tho Dominion with a view to seeking co-operation. The Palmerston meeting was decidedly sympathetic. If successfully organised, tlie movement will be a very big affair. Tlio meeting 'Was held in camera. According to our Talmcrston correspondent, forty dairymen at Ashhurst on Saturday resolved to form a co-operntivo dairying company, and to buy or build a factory. Mr. J. A., Nash, Mayor of Palmerston, and a director of the Dairy Union, and Mr. l'\ Maul attended. A committee was appointed to carry out tho resolution, consisting of Messrs. 11. M. Tagg (chairman), .T. C. Williamson, P. Kerrigan, Jfosenbock, Thompson, J. Easther, and J. H. Paton. Cows promised in the room numbered 400.
