BOTHA SPEAKS OUTBy Teleera.ph—Preee Association—Copyright (Rec. August 11, '9.20 p.m.) Johannesburg, August 11. A hundred men and their families are leaving for Australia, Canada, and Great Britain, fearing bad times are coming. . General Botha (Union Prime Minister) was accorded'a great reception at a party banquet in Johannesburg. In a speech ho declared that South Africa was a young nation and th? people must not bu oompelled by a noisy section to walk about doing nothing. Revellers and mob law could not be allowed, for if capital were t'l'iglitened out of the country it would go badly with the labourers and the general community olike. Unless better relations were established between the employer and tho employed there would be no chanco of avoiding a recurrence of tlie recent trouble. , General Botha indicated that the membership of tho Cabinet would be increased so as to enable the people to' keep in closer touch with the Ministers.
