TARANAKI PRESBYTERY.

(By TolozraDh.—Spocial Oorrtsponteit.l Wanganul, August 10. At a meeting of the Taranaki Presbytery it was decided to heartily approve tho platform of tho Bible-in-State-Schools League. Relativo to the proposition at present before tho Foreign Missions Committeo of Assembly, to send Professor Howitson as delegato to Canton to confer with the Mission Council on. important building (educational, theological, and medical) and other problems, the clerk reported that, on circularising members of tho Presbytery, it was found that a great majority favoured tho idea. A report to that effect was sent to tho. Foreign Missions Committee. In view of tho fact that this year marks the jubilee of the establishment of the Presbyterian Church in Taranaki, a suitable communication is to bo made. The first regular Presbyterian service was held in New Plymouth in April, 18C3, by tho Rev. J. Thom. That congregation is to ba offered hearty congratulations by the Presbytery.
