t THE WOMAN'S ACT. TAKES POISON & ASKS HELP. (By Telegraph—Preis3 Association.) Auckland, August 8. A married woman, Mrs.. W. Hearlo, who liw3 in Newton, took lysol this afternoon, and is now in (ho Auckland Hospital. Hor condition is not thought to I>3 serious. At about 1.40 p.m. a jwuicj man, coming out of his house in Prime's Lane, saw the woman standing 011 the opposite side of the road, drinking from a cup. On'sooing him, she called out: "Mister, I liavo taken lyso-l! Help! Help ,Ho ran across tho read, and she then fell to the ground. Ho picked hor up, and' ran to a neighbouring chemist's shop. Dr. Keith was, summoned, and the woman was given cmotics, after wliioli, slile was sent .to the hospital. When Admitted, hor condition was serious, but she improved latpr on and is now expected to recover. Tho woman, who is about 30 years of age, has not been loairj in Auckland. A noto written by her wn.i found by the police in her bag. It stated that "sho could: not livo in this world any longer, and that she intended to take her life.
