I 5 THE PENDING CONFERENCE. Employees of the State aro tailing . a pood deal of interest in the forthcoming Civil Service Conference, which will bo held in Wellington in about a month's time. The precise date of the opening will not 1)0 fixed till after the appearance of the Classification List, and this may bo down before the end of next wool;. The conference will be attended by delegates from the various branches of the association throughout the Dominion—from Auckland to Invercargill. Tho delegates will number about twenty-eight. The sitting will probably extend over three days. The Classification List is expected to provide tho chief material for consideration; it will probably involve a number o,f subjects. Other matters likely to find their way on to the Order Paper are described as "big things." As it is three years since the last conference, business will Ire heavy. The first conferenco was held in 1907, 'tho next in 1908, and tlia last in 1910.
