FROM THE MACQUARIES. SHORT OF FOOD. NO SIGN OF STORES VESSEL. Bt Telegraph—Press Association—Oopyrlrlit (Rec. August C, 9.20 p.m.) Sydney, August G. Tho inhabitants of tlio Macquaries, oomprising five members of Dr. Maw-son's Antarctic Expedition, and eight men employed by tho Hatch Company in boiling down penguins for oil, has sent a wireless message to the effect that tho ketch on Juno 9 last with stores for tho Macon June 9 last with 6tore for tho Macquaries, has not arrived. "Our stores," 6tates tho message, "are almost exhausted, and our position will be gravo unless the Rachel Cohon arrives." Tho secretary of the Mawson Expedition states, however, that animal life and fish are abundant. Ho suggests that even though the Rachol Cohen may be safe, a warship should bo dispatched to the relief of the islanders.
