SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications aro for southerly winds, moderate to Btirong, northwards of Fokitika and Lyttdlton, and variable breezes elsewhere, but westerly winds are likely to prevail end increaeo everywhere in about twenty-four hours. Cold and changeable weather is probable generally with heavy showers, especially on the East. Coast of tho North Island. Tho barometer is unsteady, but a farther fall is due for a . storm area, apparently developing on tho Tasmani-Hea.. Conditions are alto threatening about East Cape. Barometric pressure increased ,in the might, and moderate to strong southerly winds have prevailed pince. Except on t-ho East Coast of the North Inland the weather lias been, fair to oloudy to-day, but showers fell in various parte of the country last night. D. C. BATES.
