THEATRE ROYAL. 1 Chief among the now avtisto at the Theatre Royal this wcelc are tho Duckworths, comedy acrol>at9 and jugglers, and Max Dulfek, contortionist. Mounting a spring-board, tho • male member of tho Duckworths turns a double somersault and passes through a hoop beforo alight- 1 ing on the stage. Max Duffek plays musical instruments while doubled up in the most curious positions. Corona, who "makes the cornet talk," plays some delightful sclcctions. Miss Violet Carmen is still delighting those who hear her, and there are various other accomplished performers. THE "SMART SET." ■ A bright bill is offered by the "Smart Sot" this week. Mr. 'Maynard Dakin is highly amusing in "I icel 60 Lonely" and "Tho Jonah Man," and a disquisition on onions. Then there are Mr. Walter George, Miss Georgio Martin, Mr. Ernest Parkes, Miss Emily Kroll, and othors. HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. "Carmen." is the chief picture at His Majesty's. This ■ well-known play of Merimee is excellently mounted, and very well screened. Other'pictures shown are: "A Snowstorm on tno Berger Lino," "Pathe's Knglish Gazette," "His Honour tho Mayor," "Calamity Anna's Parcel Post," "A Woman's Gratitude," and "The Birthday Gift." THE KING'S THEATRE. A very fine programme is being screened at tho King's. An interesting romance is woven round "The One Good Turn," and "Tho Holy State," a three-act farco, is as amusing a picture as has ever been screened 'here. Tho supporting films cover a. wide range of subjects. SHORTTS' THEATRE. "Ivelly of the Emerald Isle," or "A Fight for a Fortune," is the leading number in the good bill which Shortts' present this. week. Tho remainder of the programme includes: "Tho Greater Gift," "Fatty's Busy Day," and "The Mystic Mat."
THE EMPRESS THEATRE. The last appearance of the present programme of tne Empress Theatre Continuous Pictures is arranged for to-d'ay and to-night, The outstanding attraction of the aeries is the magnilicently staged "feature" drama "A Fatal Love." The story deals with the fortunes of a duchess's daughter who marries a wealthy banker to satisfy her mother who is heavily in debt to the banker. The climax. depicts a fatal fencing bout between the banker and his wife's. former lover. The remainder of the subjects on the bill include the A.B. Company's sensational drama "The Kanchero's .Revenge," "Pathe Gazette" (topical), "Travel in the Caucasus" (travel), and the A.B. farcecomedy "Jenks Becomes a Desperato Character." A complete change will bo introduced to-morrow.
