DISTRICT REPORTS,
'—0 : SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications aro for a temporary improvement in the weather, especially on the Eaist Coast district, but another westerly storm area appears to bo developing and more unsettled weather is likely to follow shortly with much rain on tho West Coast. Moderate to strong westerly winds will probably prevail and increase shortly. Westerly winds have prevailed, and galos were reported in and southward of Cook Strait on Monday night. The winds have moderated to-day, and the weather improved generally, though Showery conditions still prevail in West land and Southland. The barometer has risen everywhere to-day. ■ D. 0. BATES.
