PROPOSAL ON FOOT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Pahiatua, August 4. A project having an important bearing on tho opening-up of tho Wellington East Coast district (especially in viow of tho big railway propositions) is now claiming tho attention of settlers in tho Akitio district. It is proposed to form a Wellington East Coast Motoring Company with a capital of J!5000 in 5000 shares of i£l each, which will ensure motor buses or lorries catorihg for passongers and freight along any route where such service will pay, and tho roads will permit. The promoters propose to start on a capital of .£2500, and hope to inaugurate tho servico in November next with two3motor lorries and a light car. Tho company guaranteo to run a daily scrvico to Pongaroa within three hours of tho railway in place.of just on six hours as at present, and to run two trips a day if necessary in the height of tho holiday season. At a meeting at Pongaroa on Friday night, the county chairman presiding, threo provisional directors, representative of the district, were appointed.
