AN UNEXPECTED OUTBURST.

By Telegraph—Preis Aisociation—Coprrifflt London, August 3. When the Litany was recited at St. Paul's Cathedral this morning, forty Suffragettes chanted togethor:— "Save Emmeline PanJdiurst! Spare her! Spare her! ■ . Give her light and set her free! ' Save her ! Save her I Hear us, while we pray to Thee!"

Thle outburst caused a sensation among tho worshippers. The women left quietly on the completion of the Litany, The Scene Described. (Eec. August i, 10.50 p.m.) The priest had just finished the recitation of a prayer for captives and prisonera, when the Suffragettes, grouped together, recited their special invocation, harmonising with the chanting of tho choir. The incident had evidently been very carefully rehearsed.,' The verso was sung three or four times, each time in a louder key.

-The Cathedral vergers then led the women out. A few' dknirs were upset, but the scene otherwise was quite orderly.

The verse has been printed and circulated widely, being intended for use in other churches also.
