WORKING MEN'S CLUB.
HALF-YEARLY MEETING. Tho' seventy-first half-yearly meeting of the Wellington 'Working Men's Club was held yesterday, , and was presided over by Mr. J. M'Knee, president of tho club. The balance-sheet disclosed a profit for tho half-year of over ,£(i00. A sinking fund has been established during- tho past lialf-year, and this has now .£2OO placed to its oredit. This amount is to be tho nucleus of a building fund which it is hoped will some day enable tho club to acquire freehold premises, tho prosent building being; on a corporation leasehold. Eor tho lialf-year tho membership of tho club shows an increase of 73, bringing tho total membership up to about 800. There aro no outstanding debts, and everything on the promises belongs to tho members. During tho preceding;*, Messrs. J. Kinniburgh and Itobt. Daniels wero olectod lifo members. At tho conclusion •of tho meeting hearty votes of thanks and confidence were tendered to the management and staff, The election of officers for tho ensuing term will lie held tomorrow.
