The new member for Grcv (Mr ; P. C. Webb) gave his views on # things in general and on politics, Parliament, the Reform party, and the Grey election in particular to an audience composed largely of supporters of the Red Federation in the Opera House Inst night. Mr. Webb is one of the Federation of Labour leaders, but he is almost unknown in Wellington. In his speech last night ho traded tho samo goods as his friends, Rlr. Semplo and Mr. Mills. All ho had to fay was about the programme of tho Social Democrats ("programme many times repeated), and the millennium which the United Federation of Labour were going to bring about. His victory in Grey he attributed not at all to the "sectarian issue." or to the Liberals pique, 'but wholly to the oxcellenco of the programme of the Social Democratic party.
