HUTT AND PETONE NEWS.

At the annual meeting of the Petone Fire Brigade, the following officers were elected:—Foreman Shordlow, AssistantForeman Gaynor and Fireman Selwood were elected unopposed to the positions of foreman, assistant foreman, and secretary, whilo Mr. J. Piper and Fireman Godber were elected'to the position of auditors. Tho first "holt" in connection with tho Petone sewerage work occurred at the end of last week, when nino. men were put off until the arrival of sufficient earthenware pipes. These. are expected during the month. Tho tank near the river is now practically completed.
