Tho Miramar Borough Electric Tramway Order No. 1 (in so far as such , Order affects the City of Wellington). Tho proposed Order-in-Council is intended to be intituled "The City of Wellington Electric Tramway Order No. 9." 'The provisions of the proposed Order- : sin-Gouiucil are as follow:— TART I.—The Council is empowered to run over all routes in the city cars coupled together. The couplings shall bo approved by the Minister. Each car is to have brakes capable of application by the motorman, and provision is to be made for signals being given to tho motorman from cach car. PART ll.—The Council is empowered to run trailer cars on the Government Sta-tion-Newtown' routo and on Thorndon and Oriental Bay routes. Trailer cars are to be provided with numbers, lifeguards, communication cords to motormen couplings, brakes, and aro to be lighted as in tho case-of tram cars. A conductor shall be carried on cach trailer. PART lll.—Tho Council is authorised to extehd tho tramway from tho existing terminus to Newtown to tho Newtown Park. The extension will bo' along Riddiford Street and Roy Street to tho entrance to the Park fTom Daniel Street. PART IV.—Tho Council is authorised to construct in Willis Street, from Manners Street to Aro Street, a further lino of track, tho existing single line being by this means converted into a double line. PART V.—The Council is authorised to construct from Aro Street to Brooklyn a further line of track, the present smglo line being by this means converted into a double line. PART VI.—WORKERS FARES.—The Council is empowered to issuo in lieu of tho workers tickets at present in use Gtrip return tickets to workers at the following rates:—2 sections, Is.; _ 3 sections, Is. Gd.; 4 sections, 2s. Such tickets shall be available on any car starting from a terminus in thd City before 7.30 a.m., and be available for return by any ordinary time-table car leavine any terminus in the City after 8 a.m. Such tickets shall not be available on holidays or Sundays, and may be obtained from all places where concession tickets are on sale. This Order shall bo read together with, and form part of, the above-mentioned several Orders-in-Council. Plans and croSs-sectious of the track work above referred to, and a copy of this Order-in-Council aro deposited in tho Town Clerk's Office at Wellington, and may be there inspected by all persons during office hours.
