Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd.. report having held a successful sa!o of dairv stock and sundries, on account of Mr. 'sr. I. Edwards, at the farm, Haywards. Buyers attended in satisfactory liumbers. and although bidding at the commencement was not too spirited, competition improved considerably ae tho sale proeressed. Some of the prices realieed wore as follow:—Cows in milk and early calvcrs. £8 155., £8. £7 12s. 6d„ and from £6 ss. to £5 55.; snrineintf lieifers, £15 10s.. £13, £11, and from £6 to £7 2s. 6d.; late calvers. from £4 to £5. On account of other vendors, the firm sold cows and lieifcra at '£7, £5 55., £6 17s. 6d„ £5 12s. 6d., £5 10s.

Masterton, report having held their weekly sale at Sohvay on Wednesday, when thero was only a small yardine of stock, which •realised the following prices :—Wcaner heifers, £1 155.; yearling Holstein hull, £2 7s 6d.; forward empty cowe, £4 45.; choice springing heifers, £7 15s. to £9; dairy cows, due ' September, £7 10s.; choice Holstein dairy cow. £13 2s. 6d.

Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report:—At Eongotca. on Wednesday we had a very l {rood entry of cattle, and have to report a satisfactory clearanco at the following prices:— Cattle: Yearling steers (small), £1 13s. 6d.; yearling heifers, £2 3s. to £3: aged cows, £1 ss. to £1 145.; store cows, £2 to £2 lis.: young store cows, £3 to £3-18s.; forward cows-£4, to £4 12s. fid.: cows, in calf, £4 ss. to £4 1&. 6d.; light fat cows, £5 7s. to £5 lis.; fat cows, £6 18s. 6d. Pigs: Stores, 19s.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams. Ltd., Pahiat.ua, report having held a successful clearing sale on behalf of Mr. J. W-aueti. Woodville, when they offered the whole of his dairy herd to a moderate attendance of buyers. Tho cows sold up to £12 10s.. tho whole herd, with the exception of threequartered cows, roakiiiK the average of £8 ss. 6d. Tho firm quote as follows:—Cows on drop, £9 10s. to ill?. ICis. ; cows just calved, £9 ss. to £11 55.; later sorts. £6 15s. to £9; empty cows, £4 55.; thrce-quar-tercd cows, to £6 55.: good quality Jerseycross heifers, made up to £10; yearling heifers, £3 65.; yearling heifers, on account of another client, £3 ss.
Messrs. W. olid G. Turnbull and Co., Ltd. (lato Jas. Macintosh and Co.), report having held a very successful clearing sale at Dry liiver, Jlartinhorougli. on Tuesday, when they sold on account of Mr. Alexander Bcatty. hia herd of 54 dairy cows (which he lately bought from Mr. Wm. Waugh). also 512 fat lambs, 74 Z-tooth wethers, and 130 store lambs, on account of a neighbour. There was a very eood attendance of buyers, and bidding was very keen out the sale, consequently the cows brought the very satisfactory average of £8 17s. Cd.' The prices realised were:—August caivers. £6 to £9 155.: 1 2-year Jafsey bull, £3: 1 4-yc.ir Jersey bull, £4 15s. The sheep were also well competed for. and the fat lambs were bought by a representative, of one of the freezing companies operating in the Wairarapa at 17s. Id., while the wethers fetched 19s. Bd.. bcine secured by a local grazier. The line of lambs sold on account of a Ttiglibour realised 12s. 9d.
Messrs. W. and G. Turnbull and Co., Ltd. (late Jas. Macintosh and Co.), report having held their weekly sale in the Wainoua <?alo yards (ffiaeterton), on Wednesday, when they offered a very heavy yarding of sheep (well above .advertised numbers), which met with fair competition, and the bulk of the yarding changing hands at prices right up to late rates. The cattle entry was only fair, and competition being dull, there was not much sold. Prices realised were:—4 and 6-tooth ewes in lamb to Lincoln, £1; 2-tooth to f.m. Eomney ewes, in lamb to S.D., £1 os. 9d.; 2-tooth Lincoln ewes, in lamb to Romney, 18s. Cd.; 4-tootli to f.m. ewes, in lamb to 5.D.,"175. Bd.; f.m. ewe.;. in lamb to fi.D. and Romne.v, 135.. 13s. 4d„ 13a 7d. to 15s. Id.; f.m. ewes,'in lamb to Ilamnev. 12s. 4d. to 15s. 4d.; f.m. empty ewes.. lCs. 7d., Us.
