EMIGRANTS TO AUSTRALIA.
FALLING OFF PREDICTED. By Teleeraph—Press Association—Oopyricht Melbourne, July 30. S'ir Georgo Roid, High Commissioner in London for Australia, in his third annual report expresses the opinion that immigration to Australia during tho coming year will not bo equal to that of tho past two years. Tho principal reasons for this, avo the great improvement in labour conditions in Britain, the constant changing of tho price of fa,res for assisted immigrants and tho conditions under which immigrants wero accepted, tho increaso in the ordinary third-class fare, and keener competition by tho oversea Dominions for British immigrants.
