CHARLOTTE BRONTE.

— AND "PAUL EMANUEL." By Telegraph—"reaa Astoolatlon—OopyrisM (Rec. July 29, 10.50 p.m.) London, July 29. The British Museum has acquired four letters of Miss Charlotte Bronte's to Professor Heger ("Paul Emanuel" of thenovel "Viletto") which provo that the suggested scandal attaching to Miss Charlotte Bronto was not true. The letters are in I'rench, nnd ure dated July and October, ISil, and January nnd November, IS 15. The letters display an expression of warm gratitude to Professor Heger as her "litoratured master," together with a passionato protest against his grudging acceptance of her devotion. Tlie letters suggest that "Vilette" was written to justify herself and Professor Ho?cr in the eyes of the public.
