Kliirtcliffo was in the chair. It was re«olvd to confirm the. committee's action. Jlorr Carl Saner, who had retired during the discussion, then returned to tho meeting, nnd was informed of t-lio result of the vote, members treating him to applause. 111 reply lie stated that monetary consideration had not weighed with him so 111in-h as a desire to lilt the standard of music even bi'vond what it had already reached here, lie congratulated members on their attendance and on tho efforts which were putting into the present work ("William Tell"). If, he said, they continued to do their part, he would not be found wanting in his efforts.
