MEN AND FASHION.
Thero has arisen a now and original kind of straw hat (writes the London correspondent of tho "British Australasian"). You will doubtless remember the ilat-crowned soft felt hats that were fashionable—among tho young men—three or four years ago. Well, tho new strawhat is similar in. shapo to that kind of straw hat. Thd straw is very fine and soft, so that, if tho wearer desires, ho can turn up ono sido of the brim and turn, down the other. Or, better still, 110 can turn down the brim in front (thus shading his eyes) and can have the brim at the back of tho hat turned up. In this way tho wearer produces an appearance of being smart—probably because so many young men wear the hats in this way. And tho sun, noticing ,• that tho brim of tho hat is turned up at tho back, has full play on tho wearer's neck. Yes, I told you that men wero rather foolish sometimes iu... their, .choice,,,of; fashions.
