.IN CANADIAN WATERS. By Telegraph—PreEs Association—Copyright Esquimalt, July 26. The battleship New Zealand has arrived here. The Premier, Sir Richard M'Bride, welcomed the battleship on Whalf of British Columbia, and tho Hon. J. D. Hazen on behalf of tho Federal Government. Automobile parades, aquatic galas, and elaborate entertainments and banquets have been arranged. CANADA'S OPPORTUNITY GONE. (Roc. July 28, 1.5 a.m.) Victoria, July 27. Referring to tho New Zealand's visit, Mr. Hazen, Minister for Marine, declared that he felt humiliated that Canada was nnablo to placo three Dreadnoughts beside the Now Zealand in order to show Canada's Teal sentiments and loyalty, but Canada's opportunity had now gone. The Governmont was fully determined to carry out its naval policy, which had been merely delayed by an unrepresentative Chamber which thwarted tho will of tho people. Mr. M'Bride, Premier of British Columbia, Mr. Hazen, and tho Lieutenant-Gov-ernor entertained Captain Halsey at a private banquet.
