Mr. W. B. Hudson, tlic general secretary, wu9 tlio lecturer at the ordinary meeting of the. French Club on Thursday night. The lecturer gave an interesting address entitled "La Puccllo do I'ranco," in which, after a brief sketch of the conditions of France during the fifteenth century, he dealt with, the many remarkable events in the life of Jeaimc (l'Arc and its traffic end. Believing herself tho chosen of God for the delivcranco of the realm of France from tlio English domination, she led the French Army to victory, and saw Charles VII crowned in the Cathedral of Reims. Later, losing support, sho was taken captive, by the Bnrgundian soldiers, and sold to tlio English, who burrit her as a witch at Rouen. Tho lecture was illustrated by a series of beautiful lantern views prepared by 'Mr. Barlthrop. During tho evening the 'Misses Heginbotham and Jones gavo a pianoforte duet. A hearty vote of thanks to Messrs. Hudson and Barlthrop, proposed by Monsieur Duflou, who presided, was carried unanimously.
