THE POPE'S GUARDS.
DISARMED FOR INSUBORDINATION. By Telegraph—Press Association— Coryrlffhl (Sydney "Sun" Special.) Rome, July 22. Members of the Swiss Papal Guard have been disarmed owing to insubordination. The men demand the removal of a prohibition against frequenting the wine shops and tho suppression of useless drills and practising climbing the roofs as preparatory training to protect the Vatican from imaginary attacks. The Pope and Cardinal Merry del Val, Seoretary of State, are" considering the situation.
