Shortly after 9 a.m. yesterday the New Zealand Shipping Co.'s steamer llnahine arrived at Wellington from London, via way ports, and anchored in the stream. Pratique having been granted' by tho Port Health ofilcer, the vessel berthed at tho King's Wharf at about 11 a.m. The following report of the voyage was supplied by Mr. C. Seiirle. purser:— Tho Ruahine left the Itoyal Albert Docks at noon on Thursday, subsequently calling at Tilbury for passengers and Plymouth for passengers and mails, Tenerilfe was roachfd in fine weather at 4.20 a.m. on June 12. Bunkers were replenished, and the voyace resumed at 3.1.1 p.m. the Earnu day. On arrival at Cape Town at 6 a.m. on June 27. the vessel went into dock, coaled, and left again for Hobart at 2 p.m. the earne day. A strong easterly and north-easterly breeze, with fine weather, prevailed to the Orozet Islands. Hero tho weat-hbr changed, the breeze increasing to a fresh gale, with very high seas- and heavy swells, and frequent hail and snow squalls. This lasted to longitude 120 K.. when moderate variable winds with rain set in. Hobart was reached at 7 a.m. on July 16. After landing mails and passengers and some 750 tons of cargo, the vovago was continued to WWliSigt-on at 4 a.m. on Friday, July 18. in moderate northerly winds. Then a west-south-west gale sprang up, with heavy seas, lasting till Cook Strait was readied. The usual sports, concerts, and dances were held throughout the voyage. Aftor discharging 4EOO tons of cargo at Wellington the vessel will proceed to Lvttelton to finish discharging. Tho Ruahine will subsequently visit tho Bluff. Napier, Auckland, and Wellington to load for London. Captain Forbes is still in command of the Ruahine,': and has with him fli£ following officers:—Meters. P. P. A wireless message has been received from the Union Company's steamer Moeraki stating that, on account of the vessel having met bad weather, she wiJJ not arrive at Wellington from SvcJjiey VI 1 D.m. .to-day. The Moeralii will berth at the Queen's Wharf No. 1 North after pratique hag been granted ill the stream. ARAHURA DELAYED. Arahura, s.s., which 'was bar-bound 1 at Wcstport, left that uort for Greymouth at noon yesterday. It was anticipated that the vessel would leave Westnort for Nelson and Wellington' at 11 n.m. to-day. She omits the usual call at Pic-ton this ttip, and should, therefore, arrive here to-morrow evening.

ABERLOUR DUE FRIDAY. Messrs. Dalgety and Co.. local agent's for the U.S. and A. Line, have been advised that their chartered steamer Aberlour left Aucklflind, in continuation of Hsr journev from New York to Wellington, last evening. The vessel is due here late to-morrow nitrht or early on Friday morning. The Aberlour goes to Nelson and southern .ports on Saturday. lONIC LEAVES PLYMOUTH. En route from London to Wellington, via Cane Town ana llobart. the Sijaw-fcavill steamer lonic left Plymouth oil Saturday. July 19. She is due at Wellington on September- 2. BAR-BOUND. Word has been received from ports situated on the West Coast of the North Island which stated that several steamers have been "held up" on account of bad weather. The Government steamer Ilinemoa wns bar-bound at Kaipara yesterday, and was not, expected to leave tliere for Manukau. The Brothers,, and Wellington till , to-day. Sho is duo in port on Sunday. At Onehunga the Ifowern, Jlana, and Rarawa havo been detained, Reports received from Patea and Wanganui yesterday stated that the bars at those aorta were unworkable yesterday. On account of the heavy weather outsido Wellinston Heads, the steamer Ripple was unable to leave port yesterday. Her departure for Napier and Gisborne lias been postponed till 5 p.m. to-day. The local offlco of the Union Oompany lias been advised that tho Corinna has been delayed by bad weather at Onehunga. Consequently she will not arrive at Wellington till to-morrow. It is urobablo that tho Corinna will be dispr.tched for southern ports on the day of her arrival here.

WAKEFIELD DOWN SOUTH. Carrying case oil from New slork, .the Vacuum Oil Company's chartered steamer Wakefield arrived at Dunedin on Sunday ovening. She loft New York on May 7. and called at Durban for coal. After leaving the latter sort ,a Chinese member of the crew jumped overboard, and though the vessel was stopped and the boats lowered nothing more was seen of him. The Wakefield will discharge 10,000 cases of benzine at the southern port, and will then come on to Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, and Auckland. The T.yser liner Makarini left Wellington for Wanganui at 6.30 a.m: yesterday. On account of bad weather, however, thb vessel went to an anchorage under Lon<? Island. She was expected to continue her journey this morninc. Messrs. Lovln and Co.. local agents for tho Northern Steamship Company, havo been advised that tho Rarawa was barbound at Onehunga yesterday. Consequently there will be no steamer from New Plymouth for Onehunea this evening. The Earawa, is expected to leave the latter cort to-morrow.
