fy LONDON PERSONALS. London, June 12. Miss Ada Briggs, of Wellington, is in England on a six months' holiday. Miss Walker, of Wanganui, intends to spend two or three montus iu London and tne provinces. Mr. H. Blundell, of Wellington, is in England on private business, and is staying at Endsleigh Palace Hotel. Mr. W. R. Jennings, of Christchurch, who is visiting llfracombe, goes afterwards to Scotland, returning to London in September. In October he leaves for New Zealand. Mr. Cecil lvebbell, of Wellington, has come to England with his wife and ■family on a visit of about two years. They intend to stay in London until they get their children settled at school. Miss M. Alcorn, of Wellington, is at present with relatives in the Xorth of Ireland. She spent a few weeks in Italy before she came on to London, and will visit the Continent in June and July. Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Maxwell, of Christchurch, who are now visiting relatives and friends in England, spent a few weeks in Northern Italy, Switzerland, and Lucerne. They return iu September by the Medina. Mr. Andrew B. Hamilton, of Wellington, has entered the Westminster School of Architecture, and has become a member of the Architectural Association. He intends also visiting Paris, Belgium, and north of France and Ireland.. Mr. W. Fulton, Produce Inspector to the Dominion Government, at Stratford, who is on a six m?. ;< hs' leave of absence, recently arrived in London, from Canada, and has gone to Denmark, where he will interest himself in matters of interest to his department. Mr. and Mrs. John Hessey, of Masterton, this week start on a motor tour through England. In July they motor through France, Switzerland. Germany, and tho Tyrol for about three months; then go to Italy, when they will stay with Mrs. Hessey's sister at Rezzola. Mr. Alex. Storrie, of Invercargill and Dunedin, is accompanied by his daughter, and visited Ceylon, Egypt, Italy, and France on the way over. They later go on to Bristol, Sheffield, Birmingham, and the Midlands, and thence to Scotland, returning to Xew Zealand by way of America. Mr. and Mrs. A. Seifert. of Palmerston North, are here on a visit which will last several mouths. Mr. Seifert intends to go into many questions connected with Hax on this side of the world. The Rev. H. P. Coux, Waipawa, who has twelve months' leave of absence, has a temporary appointment in Ireland. His present address is Belfast. Before his arrival in England, he visited Switzerland, Italy, and France. Mrs. Lawrence, of Sumner, Christchurch, with her daughter, has been in London and visiting relatives in Kent. She intends to visit Holland and Paris, and later to do a month's caravaning •through some of the counties of England. Mr. Jesse Timson, who has been organist of First Church, Dunedin, for twentyfive years, is on holiday in England. Ho shortly leaves on a prolonged tour of England and Scotland, sailing again for home in October. Mr. Timson is accompanied by his wife and daughter. Mr. ZAnte Wood, of Wellington, arrived in England two months ago, and lias been spending tho last few weeks on tho Continent. ' He leaves in a few days for a month's motoring tour with Australian friends through the Midlands and Lakes District.

A new branch of the Cottage Tea Rooms—tho venture set afoot in London some years ago by a New Zealander, Mrs. Iredale, of Dunedin—was opened last week, when a private view was givin, in Tokenhouse Buildings, near tho Stock Exchange. A number of young New Zealanders were at tho opening, among them Miss Gem Witt, of Dunedin, Miss R. Rces, of Gisborne, and Miss Von Meyern, of Auckland. Mr. John H. Owen, of Wellington, hasbeen staying with his cousin, Colonel. Attrce, at Battersea, for some little time, but now goes to Blundellsands (in Lancashire), to stay with relatives, and afterwards to Bala, in North Wales, to a brother. He then sets out on a motor tour through England and France. On Monday last the High. Commissioner for New Zealand and Mrs. Mackenzie were the guests of the Lyceum Club at the "Empire" dinner. On Tuesday evening Mr. Mackenzie attended a dinner at the Colonial Office in honour of the King's birthday. The- dinner was followed by a reception at the India Office, at which Mr. and Mrs. Mackenzie and the Misses Mackenzie were present. Mr. and Mrs. A. Peppier and family, of Christchurch, who arrived in England a year ago, 'have been in Holland and Berlin. They spent the summer in the Harz Mountains and Thuringen Forest, and early this year they travelled over Munich and Innisbruck to Naples, where they were joined by Miss Peppier and Miss Carston, of Waipukurau. They intend spending several weeks in London, then will go from Holland to Cologne, down the Rhine to Wiesbaden and Dresden, then to Berlin, where they will stay until their departure from Bremen.
