SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for cold, squally, and showery weather generally. South-, erly winds, strone to eale, aro nrobable northward of Kawhai and Ciistlepoint, and south-easterlies elsewhere, tio barometer rising everywhere. Tho barometer is still unsteady in the northerly districts, but has risen considerably in the south. A. cold changc has been experienced with rain in most parts of th© country, and . some snow in higher levels in the South Island. Southerly winds, 'strong to gale, have prevailed. DC. BATES.
