o . A DOUBLE-BARRELLED ATTACK. Sir Walter Buchanan notified his intention, in the Houso of Representatiyes yesterday, of asking the Government whether they will take the necessary steps to ascertain tho extent to whicn the noxious weed known as, blackberry is spreading over the lands of the Dominion, and endeavour to discover some effective means to arrest tho alarming rate of its increaso. Mr. Wilkinson followed this up and raised a smilo by giving notice to ask the Minister for Agriculture whether ho would tako steps to stop the sale of blackberry plants by seedsmen, who advertised the same for publio sale by catalogue.
