Tho Huddart-Parkcr steamer Victoria arrived at Auckland at 1 p.m. to-day from southern ports, after a 6tormy passage of over 25 hours from Gisborne. After rounding East Oa,pe the vessel mot the full forco of a strong north-west gale, accompanied by high seas and fierco rain squalls. Tho gale raged throughout Saturday night,, anil the steamer's progress, was coneiderably retarded. When approaching the . JTauraki Gulf the weather became so thick fthat. the landmarks could not lie seen and tho steamer accordingly plowed down until tho'weather cleared. Tho Huddart-Parkcr steamer Wimmera, bound from Sydney to Auckland, which was expected here at 2 p.m. to-day, advised by wireless that sho is meeting with heavy weather in tho Tasman Sea, and will not o'/rivo until early on Monday morning. The north-west galo which raged on Saturday and Sunday considerably delayed shipping. The Mokoia and Rosamond ivorkod under difficulties' on Saturday morning, but got away to timo in the afternoon. Loading operations ou tho Ota.ki were also considerably interfered with. The coastal steamers wore also delayed by the gale. WAHINE ARRIVES. THE NEW PERRY FLIER.
