— 0 A DELIBERATE ACT. (By Telegraph—l'ress Association.) Hastings, July 20. Douglas Walt, horse trainer, and formerly a successful cross-country rider, committed suicido last night. He placed a double-barrelled gun in his mouth and pulled tho trigger by means of a nccktio attached to his foot. A note left on a table near tho bed stated: "If anybody thinks or says I am a cur for doing this lie is a liar, becauso I havo not had drink, but will havo ono in n few minutes." no also left a letter addressed to a man named Hitchcock. Deceased was unmarried, and was about 30 years of age. His relations reside here.
