Tho teams appear to bo very evenly matched. Tlio local tram has undergone 6omo alteration, tho team now being as follows:—Full-back, Parker; three-quarters, Young, Twomey, Hokota; fivo-cighths, Adams, Ilansey; half, Nunn; forwards, Eliot.t, Sullivan, Osborne, Beard, M'luty. Ryan, Oakes, and Shearer. Mr. L. Simpson will referee. Tho note adds that a good game should bo seen at 1.30 p.m. in tho meeting between Oriental and Selwyn, two of tlio leading teams in tho junior championship. RANFURLY SIIIELD MATCH. (By Telegraph—Prces Association.) Auckland, July 18. Mr. Georgo Nicholson will act as refereo in tho Rugby Union match Wellington v. Auckland on Saturday. Tho Wellington team practised on Alexandra Park this morning, SCHOOL CONTEST. Yesterday Mitchelltown and Terrace, the two unbeaten teams in tho junior championship met on Kelburno Park, and after a hard struggle Mitchelltown won by 11 points to nil. Fcterson (2) and Perrett scored tries, one of which Curtice converted. This brings tho winner's total up to 111 points, while no points have so far been scored against them. Mitohelltown takes a great interest in school Rugby and about 200 people witnessed the game.
CRICKET.
KENT V. YORKSHIRE. By Telesrajili—Presa Association—Ooryrieht London, July 17. In the county cricket championship match, Kent v. Yorkshire, the latter's lirst innings realised 100. Blythe, for Kent, took five'wickets for 30 runs, and Woolley four for 10. (Roc. July 18, 11.20 p.m.) Kent has compiled 135 against Yorkshire, Rhodes took five wickets for 42.
BOWLS.
THE HUTT CLUB'S REPORT. The tenth annual report of tho Hutt Bowling and Tennis Club, to be presented at the annual meeting of the club on July 29, states that the numerical strength of tho club lias increased by eight members. Tho membership on June 30 was 178. A small credit balanco was in hand, and this, it was considered, was a satisfactory summary of tlio year's operations. After outlining the improvements carried out during the vear, the report says that the Wilford *Cup had been contested with keen enthusiasm, and was won for the 1912-13 season by Mr. E. J. Hill. The committee recommended, that tho club should not enter for senior pennant matches for the coming year. The winners of the various club events during tho year were as follow:—Senior championship, C. Pole; junior, J. Davidson; pairs, W. Knight and A. Macaskill; champion rink, Casey, Birch, Polo, and Treadwell (skip).. An enjoyable and successful tennis season had been passed. In a match with tho Petone Club tho Hutt team was victorious. Tho annual tournament had been keenly contested,. and thanks wore duo to Messrs. T. M. Wilford, Orton Stevens, and P. Jackson, for trophies. The newlystarted croquet section of tho club had had a very successful season, and it is considered necessary to increase the playing area. <
ON BISLEY MOUNDS.
AUSTRALIA WINS MACKINNON CUP. Br, TcleEraph—Press Association—Copyright London, July 17. At the National Riflo Association meeting at Bisley, the Mackinnon Cup (ten shots at 800, 900, and 1000 yards) was won by tho Australian team. At the 900 yards range, the aggregato scores were: England, 770; Scotland, 773; Australia, 772; Canada, 758; India, 710; Ireland, 709. Tho grand aggregates at 800, 900, and 1000 yards were as follow: — Australia 1533 Scotland 1501 England IMG Canada .V. 1-159 India 1109 Ireland 1375 [Last yenr tho cup was won Ly England, with 1583 points. Tho other scores werj: Scotland, 105G; • Union of South Africa, 1551; Ireland, 1511; Canada, 1535; India, 1-190;. Guernsey, 11-15.]
