FRUIT AND VEGETABLE SUPPLIES. Owing no doubt to tho report re the stoppage of tho usual Sydney steamers a fortnight hence, tho shipment of Barotongan fruit which came to hand at tho Blair and Allen Street markets yestorday mot with a very keen demand. This week' 6 consignment of Sydney fruit, although heavier than last week, realised well, with tho exception of passion fruit, which fell fully 50 per cent, when compared with last week. Tho duty on apples now having been reduced for the season brought forward tho first consignment of Tasmania)! fruit, which arrived in fair order, and sold well; The supply of vegetables is well 'maintained, and wonderfuily good for this time of the year. Cabbages como to hand in largo quantities. with choice samples selling at very good values. Yesterday's approximate values were:—Mandarins, gins, 10s., 12s.
