Mr. J. E- Thomson, the assistant general secretary for the Theosophical Society in New Zealand, is at present visiting Wellington, a.nd will deliver a course of lectures, as advertised, on matters of current interest. , Sir. Thomson is described as a bright, versatile, and convincing speaker, who is particularly apt at answering questions on theosophical subjects. ' Next Wednesday and Thursday the St. Peter's annual parish sale of work will be held in the schoolroom in Ghuznee Street. From the reports of the promoters of the different departments the sale promises to be better this year than usual, and considerable enthusiasm is being displayed in working it up. The Hon. F. M. B. Fisher will open it on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Admission will be freo in tho afternoons, and one shilling will be charged in the evenings, when an entertainment will be provided. Owing to tho Town Hall being engaged up till midnight oh Saturday, and t.he difficulty and expense of special cleaning to have it ready in time, it has been dccided not to hold an organ recital tomorrow afternoon.
